Psychoanalysis

Many behavioral patterns and emotional experiences exist as an unconscious effort to protect yourself from pain.   Psychoanalysis offers a profound way to work through the unconscious motivations that define how you experience your emotional landscape.

My job as a psychoanalyst is to provide a safe haven for you to express the feelings, thoughts, longings, and anxieties that arise in a therapy session. Psychoanalysis will allow you to explore the fantasies, secrets, and memories that live in your body and have unknowingly influenced your manner of being in all aspects of your life.

With time, you will find that you perceive and relate to yourself and others more productively and with more compassion. This deeply intimate experience takes time.  In psychoanalysis, we will meet 4-5 times weekly for a number of years.

Laying upon a couch or sitting up in a chair, the unique atmosphere of analysis provides a therapeutic relationship, which deeply supports the ability to understand and process your concerns. By knowing more about your “underworld,” you will gradually liberate yourself and learn to live a rich, meaningful, and creative life.
